Since 2008

Originally, we come from Germany (Kassel). We had no connection to Arcos before. We had neither friends nor family here.

So why did we choose Arcos as the centre of our lives anyway?

Because this small town (just over 30K inhabitants) offered everything we were looking for. A good infrastructure with many possibilities (shopping, cinemas, doctors, sports, etc.), the proximity to two airports (Jerez and Seville) and above all the very nice people, who are still very rural. The proximity to Jerez de la Frontera (approx. 30 km, over 200K inhabitants), Cadiz (approx. 70 km, over 100K inhabitants) or Seville (100 km, over 700K inhabitants) also makes you quickly forget the small disadvantages of a small town (no theatre, no hospital, etc.), as everything that Arcos does not have to offer directly is very quickly at hand. Above all, Arcos de la Frontera is simply a beautiful small town. In surveys, it is always among the 10 most beautiful towns in Spain and has so much to offer

For example, the “Belén Viviente” (the living nativity scene) is very famous throughout Spain and is the most beautiful nativity scene with real people that I know. The river Guadalete, which meanders below the rocky old town, offers very many attractive walking routes. Here you can spend very pleasant hours hiking alone or with family or friends. Arcos is also an ideal place for horse lovers to spend an exciting holiday. Several world champions of different equestrian disciplines live in Arcos and run horse farms where private riding lessons or excursions are also offered. Motorbike fans will also get their money’s worth, as Arcos is the gateway to the hinterland of the province of Cádiz. Winding country roads with a beautiful view of nature are standard here. The routes from Arcos into the hinterland to such beautiful villages as Villaluenga del Rosario, on to Grazalema, then to Zahara de la Sierra and back via Algodonales and Bornos offer unforgettable experiences. Arcos is also very attractive for water sports enthusiasts. In Arcos there is a large reservoir where many different water sports are offered (water skiing, water polo, sailing, canoeing, jet skiing, etc.). Sun worshippers also get their money’s worth at the “Playita”, the sandy beach by the lake.

But what Arcos de la Frontera has to offer above all in abundance is beauty, nature and tranquillity. If you just want to relax for a few days or weeks, then this is the place for you. Welcome to Arcos de la Frontera and to your new home at Casa Levante.
